Congratulation you decided to join the World Wide Web community and to have your own website. There are many (!!!) things to do, but let's go step by step.
First thing you need is buy a domain name and hosting to upload all your files.
Think about it as your new place, where you want to put all your things; your sofa, your books, your TV, so you rent a place and pay monthly fee for to rent the space from the owner. On the net it’s the same. You need a place to put all your images, your content, your forum and more. In the world of internet the rent is called Hosting and your "house address" called a domain.
After you decided on your domain name and where to purchase your hosting, you need to start thinking about how you will design your website. The design is very important. If the website is not convenient for the eyes the user will not stay in your website more than 2 minutes, and probably won't visit it again. If your site is well designed the user will go over it page by page and there will be more of a chance that he/she will use your services.
Design companies are all over, but you will need to guide them with your specific needs.
Other things you need to know about design: try not to put everything you like in one website. It will look like a mess! Control your desires and think about the user usability.
Well you are half way there.
After you designed your website you need to build and upload it. Find yourself a good webmaster. You will need him a lot even after you launch the website. If you need special features like forum, forms, databases and more technical issues, the webmaster will be your guy.
The next step is to fill your website with content.
The content subject is an issue for ten more articles, but to make a long story short, the content you need to put in your website needs to be unique, original and logical. Do not copy content from another website, the search engines will disqualify your website, and you don’t want that to happen.
Well after its all there you need to start bringing traffic to your website.
But this is for next time.
